The Thrane Explorer 100 / 110 is smallest and most compact BGAN terminal built. At under 1 Kg, it’s the lightest combined broadband and voice satellite communications device in the world.
The Thrane 100 / 110 Explorer supports:-
- Broadband data up to 384 kbps via Ethernet (110 variant, Bluetooth or USB only on the 100) with guaranteed data rates on demand up to 64 kbps
- Toll quality voice with a direct dial phone number via any inexpensive telephone unit with the usual services, voicemail, call forwarding, call baring, call hold
- SMS (Short Message Service) Text based messages (160 characters similar to GSM mobile)
Data and voice charges compare very favourably to the GSM and 3G networks roamed rates
The Explorer 100 / 110 comes with Inmarsat’s unique and free BGAN Launchpad software giving rapid set up and easy access to the units advanced functions including call and data usage logs, address book and performance interface.
The unit is packed with features and with its incredibly low weight (just under 1 Kg) the Explorer 100 / 110 means its the obvious choice for single user operation for those constantly on the move.
It enables you to work just just about anywhere in the world*, regardless of fixed line infrastructure and is ideal as a 1 user solution.

The unit comes complete with mains AC charger, and full instructions for operation and set-up, and can be mastered by anyone used to setting up a laptop PC or MAC for use on a wireless network. Established uses can normally be online from a cold start in about 5 minutes.
